The Junk Pub, as it’s name suggests is a small east asian nautical themed pub that captures the atmosphere and friendliness of a seafaring melting pot of cultures. From it’s earliest beginnings during the Qin Dynasty, Hong Kong has been a naval base and trading post. Traders and Mariners where always a rag tag of opinionated individuals always ready for a good yarn. And it is this heritage that is at the heart of the the Junk Pub. A popular watering hole for international residents who describe it as being the smallest pub with the biggest attitude.
The Junk Pub are small bars tailored to conversations among the familiar faces of patrons and staff. The bar projects an air of irreverence yet the small size ensures the friendly service of our staff makes all customers conformable and welcome. Each outlet operates from premises between 750 sq.ft. to 1,250 sq.ft. in size and focuses on building a strong loyal customer base.
Open since 2000, in November 2005, The Junk Pub, located in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, was the acquisition of the China Pub Company. It is a popular watering hole for international residents of Hong Kong, who describe it as being the smallest pub in Hong Kong, with the biggest attitude.
Market Position
An east asian nautical influenced bar with directly linage to sailing Junks and in particular the Duk Ling. The decor provides a rustic unpretentious atmosphere of an old sailing vessel. Polished wood and brass fittings feature heavily while smattered with yarns. By building a strong following the Junk Pub provides a third place for local residences to meet and discuss matters of the day.
Open for extended hours, the Junk Pub serves a wild selection of beers and ales from england and asia, representing the blending of cultures. Depending on local regulation a small selection of bar food may also be on offer.
