Kennedy’s Irish
Irish stout, leann dubh or “black ale” with it’s dark rich colour and toasted coffee-like taste is a cultural icon of Ireland. Kennedy’s Irish bring this raw tradition in the form of a Victorian Dublin style Irish teach to Greater China. Kilkenny and Guinness on tap, as well as good ciders. Kennedy’s is a place that brings together the ornate detail and insistence to quality that are the historical hallmarks of Irish Public Houses. A tradition that harks back to the good old days of “Craic” - comfort, hospitality and a friendly and exuberant atmosphere.
Kennedy’s Irish is a brand and concept pub, being developed by China Pub Company. It will serve Irish stout, ales and food ranging from great breads to complement the stout, to Irish stews and Guinness pies. The interior features a bar counter beautifully carved in highly-polished wood and the walls panelled with rich, dark timbers, bevelled mirrors and secluded “snugs” - eating nooks - adorned with stain glass. Everything about Kennedy’s is Dublin and the historical culture that so much are part of Irelands Celtic heritage.
The name Kennedy is derived from the British Governor of Hong Kong from 1872 to 1877 who was responsible for introducing the Hong Kong dollar and developing Kennedy Town, a district located in the western area of Hong Kong Island. The company’s flagship Kennedy’s Irish is planned to be operation in Kennedy Town before the end of the year.
