The Bull and Bear

A traditional English pub in name and tradition. The Bull & Bear serves up traditional english hospitality, ale, sports and food in keeping with local English village pubs. Originally established in 1974, The Bull & Bear is a famous Hong Kong pub brand and the first authentic British Pub in Hong Kong. The name refers to stock market sentiments and was was originally established by the Hutchison Group, whose headquarters were also home to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Each Bull and Bear outlet operates in premises between 2,000 to 4,000 sq.ft. There is a wide selection of english ales with classics on tap. The Bull & Bear has full catering facilities and serves full meals through out the day such as bangers & mash, fish & chips and steak & ale pie catering to breakfast, lunch and dinner patrons.

In 2006 China Pub Company acquired the Bull & Bear Pub brand and opened it’s first Bull & Bear Pub in Wan Chai. Re-introducing the brand and experience back into Hong Kong.

Since opening in Wai Chai, the Bull and Bear now features on several tourist websites, brochures and maps making it easy for visitors to find us.

The “new” Bull and Bear, the first ever authentic Bristish Pub in Hong Kong is situated on the corner of Jaffe Road and Fenwick Street in the heart of pulsating Wan Chai. Pubs and bars have always been indispensable ingredients in the culture of eating and drinking in Hong Kong. And in Wan Chai the endless watering holes, chic or classic, have nearly filled up whole streets making Wan Chai the heart of Hong Kong’s night life.
