China Pub Company operates branded theme pubs and entertainment outlets across Greater China. Focused exclusively on the hospitality sector, we are establishing a broad based business of themed bar and restaurant outlets in the most dynamic and fastest growing economic region in the world.

Established in 2005, we have been actively building our brand profile and market expertise in the key locations of Hong Kong and Shanghai. Themed outlets already in operation include The Junk Pub, The Bull & Bear and Malone’s American Café. A new brand, Kennedy’s Irish, is under development while themed outlets in Macau will be opening soon. As we move forward, new outlets and brands will be progressively developed inline with our broader business aims.

Market Opportunity

Greater China, a region which comprises Hong Kong, Macau and China is witnessing an industrial, economic and social revolution the likes of which the world has never seen. It is the manufacturing centre for the world and as a result it is seeing double digit GDP growth and huge inflows of investment.

The social structure is changing dramatically, as disposable incomes increase and the local market obtains an appetite for international brands and western lifestyle pursuits. The increase in economic power has also seen an influx of western expatriate workers always eager for a taste of home.

Brand Strategy

Our business is providing a unique entertainment experience to our customers. Each outlet offers friendly service within a great environment in keeping with the theme of the individual brands.

All China Pub Company brands’ are anchored at the cross-section of both Chinese and Western culture.  Key to establishing a solid brand promise across all our outlets is the most iconic symbol of Hong Kong - the Duk Ling. A Chinese sailing junk that is a key tourist attraction of Hong Kong.

Owned by China Pub Company since 2005, our corporate logo and all our brands’ tie back to this iconic sailing vessel.  The Chinese sailing junk logo is a registered trade mark of the group forming an overarching brand providing an identifiably unique experience for our customers.

Current Plans

Our objective is to establish a strong operational base in the key target markets of Hong Kong, Macau, Shanghai and Bejing. Concentrating on establishing numerous outlets in these markets and cementing the brand before moving to other cities.

The other cities being considered will be close to the urban centres already targeted. In the Macau area, Zuhai; Shenzhen and Guangzhou both near Hong Kong; Hangzhou, Suzhou, in the same region as Shanghai, and Tianjin which is near Beijing.  This will enable the group to take advantage of the synergies created by clustering.

The main development thrust of the Company will be through new leases, however it will also be prepared to acquire existing businesses if they are seen to be a good fit for the Group. The pubs acquired may be retained and or re-themed as one of the Company’s brands. Underlying this will be the key financial criteria that the operation must achieve a 30% return on investment.
